Cooper Foundation Awards $174K in 2Nd Quarter Grants

The Cooper Foundation has released its annual list of non-profit organizations that receive grants, and this year's winners include a group that provides early education to at-risk children in Lincoln, Neb., the Lincoln Journal Star reports.

The Northeast Family Center received $15,000 for its Early Learning Center, which provides affordable quality early education for children ages six weeks through 12 years.

The Boys and Girls Club of Lincoln/Lancaster County received $10,000.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Honors Program received $9,300 for its Cooper Connections program, which supports interns and the public in coordination with the university's E.N.

Prairie Loft Center.

The foundation also released its annual list of the top 50 charities in the country, and this year's winners include a group that provides after-school programs for at-risk girls in Omaha.

The Charities Aid Foundation has set up a scheme, called the Social Enterprise Assist, that will render interest-free loans of up to £10,000 each to help social enterprise start-ups.
